Scream Queens – The TV Show

Scream-Queens-01So last night I turned on my PVR and noticed I missed the new show Scream Queens on City TV last night. So I got comfortable and knew that 2 hours of a TV show is not my cup of tea, but I figured they aired it that way on TV I’ll watch it. I absolutely loved the first episode especially the 1995 throwback. I am also a fan of the cast: Emma Roberts, Abigail Breslin, Keke Palmer and Jamie Lee Curtis. The other actors are fairly new to me, but I’m sure they’ll grow on me.

I have to say I’m a little disappointed in the show, knowing it’s produced by the same guy (Ryan Murphy) that did American Horror Story I guess I had high hopes for this show. This series is basically like a horror version of Gossip Girls. Now I do love me some Gossip Girl, but I’m not sure if this will be as everlasting. Let’s hope Episode 3 doesn’t disappoint. Although I’m glad I got to fast forward through commercials otherwise I might of stopped watching episode 2 half way.

From a Chick’s Perspective 3/5. – The first episode was amazing, the second was meh. I’m sure the series will stick around cause teens will love this.

Blindspot – Pilot Review

02100-blindspot-posterFinally a new TV show where the actors are awesome, the concept is pretty cool (kind of reminded me of Prison Break with all those tattoo’s that basically turned into a map… sorry for the spoilers), AND well I totally have a girl crush on Jaimie Alexander. My girl crush started when I saw her in Nurse Jackie ❤

So I love the concept of this show. A girl is found in a bag in Times Square and she is completely covered in fresh tattoos. Her memory is completely wiped and her tattoo’s are leading the FBI to future attacks, deaths… etc. The first episode was pretty good, but I am hoping that it doesn’t become repetitive. I feel like this show has a lot of potential to last, but only time will tell. The only thing I worry about is the actor Sullivan who plays Kurt. There is something off about his acting… I have a feeling he has a strong accent and is trying to pull off a regular New York accent… (I need to go google this)

YES… He is AUSTRALIAN! I knew it! and boom goes the dynamite.

From a Chick’s Perspective 4/5. – Pilot reviews are usually easy for me. I can tell whether a show is going to be amazing or it’ll be off the air come Season 2… or 3. This one will definitely be a great Season and I really hope the show keeps getting better. I can see it declining, but let’s hope this show makes it to at least Season 3.

Limitless – The TV Show

limitless-publicity-releasejpg-82f1eeWhen I heard Limitless (the movie) was being turned into a TV Show I was pretty excited. Although most of the time when movies turn into TV Shows they tend to fail horribly, but I was so surprised by this pilot episode. Not only are the actors awesome but the story itself is pretty sweet. I am so happy to see Jennifer Carpenter in another show, as I haven’t seen her since Dexter. She is such an incredible actor! Also I LOVE LOVE LOVE that Bradley Cooper is actually in the TV Show. HOW GENIUS IS THAT?

Out of all the shows this fall I think this show will be my favourite. So far Fall TV is going to be AWESOME ❤

From a Chick’s Perspective 5/5. – For a Pilot I really loved it. I can’t wait to see episode 2 and watch the rest of the Season! Let’s hope this show lasts a long time!

OITNB Season 2

I finally watched it! I am so late on this, but damn there are way too many shows to catch up on. I heard a lot of mixed reviews as some were saying it was too slow of a season and it wasn’t as good as the first, but I loved it. I absolutely love the background stories, I loved hearing all their stories and HELLO RUBY ROSE!! She is just gorg!

Anyway I totally recommend watching this series as it’s hilarious, but it’s also really meaningful and honest at times where I catch myself wiping tears away. It also makes me want to go to jail to hang out with these girls haha. God knows this is not what prison is really like.

From a Chick’s Perspective 4/5 – Loved this season, love last season and can’t wait for the next season.

So I just finished the first season of Sense8 and WOW! What a show!

It was honestly a thrilling show and you never knew what was going to happen. It was beautiful, sad, comedic, suspenseful… basically all of those qualities you look for in a series, especially a new one. I can’t wait for Season 2. This is one of those shows that you really need to pay close attention to. I remember getting so confused because I missed an important part and had to rewind it because someone was in my living room talking or the phone rang etc. Definitely not worth it to let the show continue going if it doesn’t have your full attention, but trust me it’s worth it.

The cast is completely amazing. I loved every single character and that’s tough to find in a series.

From a Chick’s Perspective 5/5. – One of the most confusing and amazing series I’ve seen. Definitely recommend it and I will definitely be waiting and watching for Season 2.

Oscars 2015 Review… A Little Late

Hey everyone,

I wanted to do a small Oscars review since I do watch a lot of movies. Unfortunately there were a lot of movies in this years nominees that I just didn’t get a chance to watch, so I didn’t evenbother making predictions this year.

Although the award show itself was boring as hell here are my best and worst moments:

Best Moments:
1. John Legend and Common’s performance of Glory along with their acceptance speech for Best Song. – Honestly it just touched my heart.giphy (1)
2. Patricia Arquette winning for best supporting Actress. – I really didn’t care that she won, but her speech about women equality and wage quality won me over. I’ll definitely have to watch Boyhood.oscars-gifs-meryl-streep-jlo
3. Julianne Moore winning Best Actress. – I knew she would win and I was only basing this off of her performance in Still Alice. It was a beautiful movie and her acting was amazing.
4. Lady Gaga’s stunning tribute performance to The Sound of Music. – It was epic. I’m glad she finally showed the world what she is actually capable of.

Worst Moments:
1. Neil Patrick Harris hosting. – I was never a big fan of him, but this was just overall embarrassing.  Especially when you think your prediction box is so precious and you don’t even let us know your predictions… Unless I missed that then I must’ve fell asleep.

2. John Travolta being creepy – Creepy with Idina and creepy overall. He scares me.
3. Leaving out Joan Rivers in the Memoriam. – That’s just fucking rude.

Overall probably one of the most boring Oscars events ever. Until next year.

The Equalizer – Movie Review

The_Equalizer_posterThe Equalizer

I figured I’d write something while I’m watching the movie. If you don’t like violence, blood and gore this movie AIN’T for you. I’m almost an hour into it and I literally had to pause it cause I was so grossed out. It’s pretty graphic, but so far it’s a great movie!

After the movie:

Overall it was a great movie. Pretty gory and honestly Denzel scared the shit out of me. This movie is like meeting a really nice guy and then knowing he is a psychotic killer (but a good killer), but STILL a killer. Thinking he did all this killing for a hooker he hardly knew imagine what he’d do for his wife if he had one LOL. Jesus take the wheel.

From a Chick’s Perspective Overall this movie is a 3.5/5. I probably would never watch it again, but it was a good movie. I would recommend seeing it just because it was so messed up. I love gory, horror, thriller movies and this takes the cake. I wasn’t expecting it to be that gory.

Robert McCall: [to Slavi] That girl, Alana… She’s gonna go on living. You… You’re gonna bleed out all over this funky floor… All over 9,800 dollars.

So messed up.

The Interview – Movie Review

The Interview

First off I am fans of Seth Rogen and James Franco. Pineapple express was downright hilarious, but this movie… UGH it was pretty bad. It seemed like James was trying too hard and even though Seth is a great actor I felt like he just gave up half way through the movie. It was a pretty big disappointment. Especially with all the hype surrounding this movie. I watched this on Christmas Day (not in theaters) and a lot of people on my Facebook would ask “How was the movie? Was it good?” and all I could say was “It wasn’t great.” I literally don’t even know how to explain this movie. There were some times I was laughing out loud, but most of the time I kept wondering what time is was and if this movie was going to end soon, because I was more infatuated with the idea of going to bed than watching the rest of this film. Christmas Day is a busy one for me. The last thing I want to do is stay up late and watch a movie that isn’t that good.

I have to say I was surprised to see Lizzy Caplan in this movie. I absolutely adore her in Masters of Sex.

From a Chick’s Perspective I give this movie a 2/5. With all the hype surrounding it I would say to watch it, but don’t expect greatness. Plus with the release all the good parts have been spoiled anyways. OH and Eminem coming out as Gay in a movie doesn’t make him gay. I don’t understand why people are taking this movie so seriously.
