Sicario – Movie Review

Sicario_posterI was very lucky to catch the movie Sicario last night thanks to my work. ❤

Let me just start off by saying if you haven’t read my blog yet I HATE going to movie theaters. I would rather stay home and watch it on my couch so I can pause it, rewind it (if necessary) turn it up and down… etc. People in movies theaters are so annoying. They have to point out who’s going to die or what they think it going to happen. NO ONE CARES. I am trying to hear what the hell is going on and also use my brain to figure out what I think it going to happen. No one needs your damn commentary.

Anyways about the movie. I have to say I absolutely adore Benicio Del Toro. He is like the Spanish version of Brad Pitt. Not in acting by any means, but in looks! These two look like long lost brothers or they have different mothers lol

I found this image online and almost died of laughter. Glad it’s not just me who thinks they are related. Although I don’t really enjoy them calling him a Mexican version of Brad Pitt, but we won’t even go there.

So the movie overall was great, super action packed, sad at times and very confusing. Emily Blunt’s character really confused me. I’m going into this movie thinking that she is a strong female lead, when it reality I felt like she was just supporting Benecio Del Toro’s character the whole time. I don’t want to spoil this as I’m not sure when this comes out to the public, but definitely go see it. It’s a great movie, with some gruesome moments, but totally worth it. Or wait till it hits DVD if you’re like me and don’t want to watch it in theaters lol

From a Chick’s Perspective 3.5/5.  It was a great movie, I’ll most likely forget about it in the coming years. I’m sure someone will bring it up and I’ll be like Oh yea that movie. It was okay… I recommend seeing it. It was filmed beautifully. As you can tell i’m still unsure how I feel about it.

22 Jump Street – Movie Review

22_Jump_Street_Poster22 Jump Street

I have to admit I absolutely love Jonah Hill. I’m actually a bigger Jonah fan than a Channing fan. Shocking huh? But not in a “Oh he’s hot” kind of way(obviously) more like he’s a better and funnier actor.

Anyways…. This movie was pretty long and to be honest I can’t even remember the first one. It was basically the same movie but in College instead of High-school. The strange thing I didn’t get is why people kept mentioning how old they are. OLD PEOPLE CAN GO TO COLLEGE TOO. By old I mean like people in their late 20’s and early 30’s. That’s pretty old for college I guess…

Some of my favourite scenes:

1. The Bad Trip Vs the Good Trip. Channing dancing his ass off while Jonah is in a depressed state.

2. All of the next movies they created at the end. (I guess this means there won’t be another Jump Street movie… thank god.) My favourite was the Video Game.

3. Ice Cube freaking out at the Parents Meeting

5. Last but by far my favourite. Jonah Hill doing a poetry slam. CYN-THI-A. (I think I laughed so hard at this cause my middle name is Cynthia HA!).

From a Chick’s Perspective Overall It was alright. I give it a 3/5. I probably wouldn’t watch it again, but I would tell people to watch if if they’ve seen the first one already.

Captain Dicksons wife: So how did you and Doug meet?

Maya: We met at a party and then he stalked me to my dorm room.

Captain Dickson: Stalked you? And then what happened?

Maya: Then we hung out and watched a movie.

Maya: [pause for a second] Actually we watched it a couple times…

Captain Dickson: This is bullshit! Waiter! Can a black man get some water!

Schmidt: Someone get the man some water. He’s black, he’s been through a lot!

Redemption – Movie Review

I think I’ve seen every single Jason Statham movie possible; or at least I try to. I think he is a brilliant actor and he picks the best action packed roles. I tend to look forward to his movies only because I’m never dissapointed. When my boyfriend said “Let’s watch this new Jason Statham movie” I instantly said “Play it NOW.”

So this movie was very different from his other roles. Even though there was a lot of fight scenes and he was still a tough guy it was completely different than any other movie I’ve seen him in. The one thing that is confusing is the name of the damn movie. I found this DVD art via google… we watched it as Redemption and there are other DVD covers saying “Statham as Crazy Joe” so I have no idea what this movie is called.

In short this movie is about Crazy Joe who is a homeless man who is running away from some people who want to beat him up and ends up in a rich condo where he figures out the owner won’t be back till the end of summer so he decides to make himself at home. He finds a Credit card in his mail with the PIN number enclosed, he wears his fancy suits and basically gets a job as a vigilante while making tons of money in the process. He also fancy’s a nun… yep.

Since this movie isn’t so fresh in my mind anymore I pretty much forgot all the points I wanted to make. Whatever. All in all Jason Statham movies are awesome. Definitely not one of my favorites but hell i’ll still watch any movie he is in.

From a Chick’s Perspective I give this movie a 3.5/5. Jason Statham = Awesome. The movie was really good, but I can’t see myself ever watching it again.

Olympus Has Fallen – Movie Review

olympus_has_fallen_ver10OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN

I really enjoyed this movie from beginning to end. Unfortunately I watched it really late on a Thursday night but I definitely would have passed out if it was in any way boring. So the just of it: So Aaron Eckhart is the President of the United States and surprisingly he was damn good at his role. So the President get’s held hostage as a terrorist attack occurs inside the White House. Morgan Freeman (Speaker of the Whitehouse) becomes the President until the actual President get’s saved. Gerard Butler who is the President’s Agent tries to save the day by entering the White house and finding a way to save the president.

The reason I really enjoyed this movie is because everyone knows these typical American movies where some bad shit happens and it’s a happy ending. HELL NO. This movie was insane. Guns/Martial Arts/Explosions… Hell the enemy plane crashes into  the damn Washington Monument; which I must say looked pretty damn realistic. People on the streets of Washington were dying left and right as this enemy plane shoots the streets and this is why my ass stays out of America…. although there are so many places I want to go… (adding Washington to my bucket list). This movie is full blood, sweat and tears. YES I cried! But as you get to know me I cry at 99% of movies… so deal with it. I love Gerard Butler’s character. Very badass, outspoken with a potty mouth. He wants to get shit done and won’t listen to anyone who stands in his way. The reason for this I won’t spoil, but let’s just say he doesn’t want to fail the President ever again.

And must I ask why they just had to release the hounds on the terrorists?! What the hell are these dogs going to do against men with AK-47’s?? BOOM. Dog is Dead. WHERE THE HELL IS PETA?!

Morgan F^&*ing Freeman. AMAZING. Love him. I could sit here all day and write tons about him. This man was BORN in 1937 he is a LEGEND. He is one of the best actors in the world (yes I really mean that). So he can do no wrong in my books. He may play a small role in this film, but if it was played by any other it would of changed my perspective. Morgan Freeman was MADE to be the President. I hope he lives forever and keeps gracing us with his presence on the big screen.

I love action movies, I love the blood and gore of REAL deaths… (not like the Saw franchise, but then again I love a messy Tarantino flick) If you love a good war/bloodshed/Manly movie I definitely would recommend this.

From a Chick’s Perspective I give this movie a 4/5. It’s not going to be on my favourite movies list, but definitely something I would watch again at a more reasonable hour or with someone who wanted to see it for the first time. Loved Freeman, Eckhart and Butler’s performances. Great movie overall.

Manning (Gerard Butler): “You Know what? Let’s play a game of fuck off. You Go First.”

… hahahahaha
